headcheese | alltheamusement.com

Every year, I have a list of culinary delights/challenges that I plan to tackle. And let me be straight with you – headcheese has been on that list for far too many years. With 30 being a big year for me, I decided to add it onto my 30 For 30 List, in hopes that I would put a concerted effort into actually trying it. And I finally did. Continue reading “headcheese”

sausage and sweet potato hash

Do you know what I love about making a hash? You can literally throw almost anything into a pan, sauté it up, serve with a poached egg on top, and it’s damn delicious! Potatoes? Yes! Mushrooms? Sure! Green pepper? Why not! Spam? Give it a try! Here’s my version with sausage and sweet potato.

food bucket list – fresh start

Bucket lists. I love them. But I haven’t really been checking many things off these past few years. Gosh, can you believe that it’s been almost a year since I did a food bucket list post? Squash: it kinda reminds you of autumn, doesn’t it? I feel like maybe I should be posting recipes that inspire thoughts of the warmer days ahead. I must admit – I’m tired of winter. That, and I have a lovely little acorn squash looking to be transformed into a plate of deliciousness.  Continue reading “for the love of squash – recipe roundup”

Just-Like-Jim’s Pasta Sauce Recipe

Have you heard of The Epicentre? I discovered it last year at FireHouse Gourmet when I was on the hunt for the perfect chili powder for my United Way Chili Cook-Off entry. Not only does The Epicentre have awesome products, and a huge variety to choose from, but these hand-blended spice and herb mixes come straight outta Birdgenorth. How amazing is that?!

I seriously use their premium chili powder in everything: omelettes, roasted vegetables, meat rubs, sprinkled on pizza before baking. But the pasta sauce – man, you can’t beat it! Continue reading “Just-Like-Jim’s Pasta Sauce Recipe”

food bucket list: meats

food-bucket-list-meats | alltheamusement.com

I haven’t really had many opportunities lately to stretch the boundaries of my food repertoire. The last food bucket list update I did was when I ate a beef tongue sandwich back in February! Well, this week, I’ve got an update for you! And it’s all about more meats that may be cringe-worthy for some, but are absolutely delish! Continue reading “food bucket list: meats”
