Every year, I have a list of culinary delights/challenges that I plan to tackle. And let me be straight with you – headcheese has been on that list for far too many years. With 30 being a big year for me, I decided to add it onto my 30 For 30 List, in hopes that I would put a concerted effort into actually trying it. And I finally did. Continue reading “headcheese”
This past week has brought some exceptional opportunities for me to expand my food horizons, indulge in new experiences and enjoy great company! From Peterborough to Toronto to Keene, it has been a week of culinary delights! Continue reading “a week of culinary delights”
Do you know what I love about making a hash? You can literally throw almost anything into a pan, sauté it up, serve with a poached egg on top, and it’s damn delicious! Potatoes? Yes! Mushrooms? Sure! Green pepper? Why not! Spam? Give it a try! Here’s my version with sausage and sweet potato.
Bucket lists. I love them. But I haven’t really been checking many things off these past few years. Gosh, can you believe that it’s been almost a year since I did a food bucket list post? That, and I have a lovely little acorn squash looking to be transformed into a plate of deliciousness. Continue reading “for the love of squash – recipe roundup”
Have you heard of The Epicentre? I discovered it last year at FireHouse Gourmet when I was on the hunt for the perfect chili powder for my United Way Chili Cook-Off entry. Not only does The Epicentre have awesome products, and a huge variety to choose from, but these hand-blended spice and herb mixes come straight outta Birdgenorth. How amazing is that?!
I seriously use their premium chili powder in everything: omelettes, roasted vegetables, meat rubs, sprinkled on pizza before baking. But the pasta sauce – man, you can’t beat it! Continue reading “Just-Like-Jim’s Pasta Sauce Recipe”
I haven’t really had many opportunities lately to stretch the boundaries of my food repertoire. The last food bucket list update I did was when I ate a beef tongue sandwich back in February! Well, this week, I’ve got an update for you! And it’s all about more meats that may be cringe-worthy for some, but are absolutely delish! Continue reading “food bucket list: meats”
