This is a time of reflection for many, as a fresh new calendar year begins we get to look at the 12 months of possibilities that lie ahead. Of course, my mind has been racing leading up to 2018. There are going to be so many changes, and likely lots of challenges as Chad an I embark on a new chapter. But there’s one thing that has been weighing heavy on this heart of mine: personal identity.

It is a fresh new year, guys! Are you excited? Even though every
day moment is a chance to start something new, make a resolution or change direction, the beginning of a new calendar year lends itself to be a great catalyst for making big plans and setting goals to accomplish.

Can you believe it? 2014 is here! How do you feel about last year being over? If you’re like me, you’ve never been happier to see the start of a new year and to throw that old calendar in the trash.
Although I’ve been feeling a little under the weather and didn’t quite ring in the New Year as my youthful self was hoping for (think noisemakers, champagne in excess, high heels and fake-eyelashes), the way it ended up was absolutely perfect. I spent it surrounded by love: my family, my wonderful boyfriend and his family that have welcomed me into their lives.
